Theoretical Considerations in Infrared Spectroscopy

1970
A complete presentation of the theoretical foundations of infrared spectroscopy would not only fill several volumes, but would require that the reader bring to the study an extensive mathematical background to enable him to understand and appreciate the concepts involved. Much of the material that would have to be included in such a thorough presentation is readily available in the current literature of spectroscopy, and the author has therefore chosen simply to introduce most of these concepts so as to provide the reader with the necessary background and perhaps furnish the impetus for further study in more advanced monographs.
