Electric resistivity of powdered graphites

1986
This paper studies the electrical resistivity of powders of varying degrees of comminution, obtained from polycrystalline graphite of different resistivities. The resistivity measurements were made along the direction of applied pressure. The surface area of the powders was determined by the BET method. It is shown that the conductivity of graphite powders is adequately described on the basis of percolation theory. The contact resistance of graphite powders was found to be approximately 3.10/sup -9/ omega/cm/sup 2/.
