PERFORMANCE OF GUAR GUM GENOTYPES IN SUMMER SEASON UNDER AMRAVATI DISTRICT CONDITIONS

2016
A Field experiment was conducted during summer season of 2014 at Regional Research Centre, Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Krishi Vidyapeeth, Amravati to study the performance for seed and gum yield of guar. The results revealed that genotype IC-325811 gave significantly higher plant height (112.70 cm), number of dry pods/plant (149.19) and seed yield (31.09 q/ha) of guar. This genotype also gave significantly higher gum yield (776.11 kg/ha) but was found at par with genotype IC-421840 of guar. Whereas, genotypes RGC-1031 and HG-3-100 gave significantly higher number of primary branches/plant (6.65) and number of seeds /dry pod (9.65) respectively. Genotypes IC-373427 and AVT-GR-11 gave significantly higher 100 seed weight (3.93 g) and gum content in seed (32.08 %) respectively as compared to other genotypes but found to be at par with IC-421816 and IC-421830, PLG-85, IC-369861, IC-421812 genotypes respectively.
