System for control of vehicle generator and method for fuel savings

A vehicle power generation control system (1) for fuel saving includes: a battery (10), which supplies power to electrical components of a vehicle; a generator (20) generates the current by means of a rotational force of a motor and the generated current to the battery (10) and the electrical components provides; and an electronic control unit (ECU) (30) that decides by means of monitoring a vehicle information about the vehicle and an operation information about an operation of an electric product, a cooling system with the electrical components if a power generation control is to be performed to save fuel, and the generator (20 ), controls to prevent the power generation control for saving fuel in accordance with the decision. As a result, power generation control is performed based on whether an electrical product of a cooling system is activated, and based on a vehicle information about the vehicle, to thereby prevent the cooling performance deteriorates due to the power generation control.
