Study of multichannel theory for the neutron induced fissions of actinide nuclei

1995
Abstract Low energy neutron induced fissions of actinide nuclei are studied with multichannel and random neck rupture fission model. A method for determining parameters of prescission shapes of the fissioning nuclei is presented. The fragment properties of the neutron induced fissions of 232 Th, 233 U, 235 U, 238 U, 239 Pu, 240 Pu and 242 Pu are investigated, covering the incident neutron energy range from 0 to 6 MeV. The dependence of the channel probability on the incident neutron energy is determined. Theoretical results are in accord with the experimental data.
