Efficient and Economically Favorable Co-Free Air Electrodes for Solid Oxide Cells
2021
In this work, the assessment of LaNi0.5Cu0.5O3-δ-based perovskite in terms of the availability of critical raw materials, sustainability, and economic aspect in relation to the Co-based oxides is presented. Chemical compatibility between LaNi0.5Cu0.5O3-δ, obtained by the sol-gel method, and commercial CGO powder is evaluated. Moreover, the electrochemical studies of fuel electrode-supported cells with LaNi0.5Cu0.5O3-δ material as the air electrodes are presented. The electrochemical measurements - current density-voltage curves, were measured at different conditions including temperature in the 700-800 °C range and variation of the composition of feeding gases.
