Image steganography on coloured images using edge based Data Hiding in DCT domain

In this paper, a robust approach of image steganography has been performed. It applies different approaches of steganography in images to produce a stego output which efficiently carries the message during transmission. The model proposed here attempts to hide data in edge pixels of a coloured (RGB) image. Data embedding is done here by a simple mathematical expression. The encryption algorithm functions on the coefficients of Discrete Cosine Domain and as such increases efficiency and prevents unauthorized decryption. Furthermore, the performance of this model has also been tested by calculating SNR and PSNR values for several combinations of test cases.
