Recombination oscillations in double-injection devices

Abstract High-frequency oscillations which occur in the low-injection regime of double-injection devices with deep traps are shown to be due to the propagation of “recombination waves”. Threshold conditions, which must be satisfied by both the semiconducting material and the device, are obtained and explained in terms of the model for recombination waves.
