Antimicrobial activity of selective transition metal co-ordination complexes of myristic acid

2020
Abstract A series of co-ordination complexes of Mn(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II) with myristic acid have been synthesized by simple precipitation method. The shift in the absorption peaks of these selective transition metal complexes were well characterized by UV–Visible spectroscopy. Elemental and EDX analysis of these complexes were consistent with the proposed formula. FT-IR spectrum confirmed the transition metal linkage with myristic acid. Thermogravimetric studies of these co-ordination complexes depicted its thermal stability and molecular structure arrangement. Further, these transition metal complexes and its ligand have been screened for their antibacterial and antifungal activity. The cell viability of the solid complexes was also studied from MTT assay.
