The invention discloses a method and equipment for allocating common channel carrier resources. The method comprises the steps of: carrying out partition processing on a plurality of position groups deployed in a logic service cell according to the total number of mobility management position groups supported by a unit common channel carrier capacity so as to obtain N sub service cells, wherein each sub service cell corresponds to a position group set comprising at least one position group; and allocating the common channel carrier resources to the obtained N sub service cells by using a space division multiplexing broadcast frequency point mode, wherein the common channel carrier resources configured to the position groups located in the same sub service cell are the same, and the common channel carrier resources configured to the position groups located in different sub service cells are different. Thus, the aim of increasing common channel capacity is reached, a resource guarantee for the mobility management among the position groups is provided, and the continuous coverage effect is greatly improved.
