The invention relates to a novel side cutter of a reaping machine for rape, the novel side cutter comprising a left and a right moving cutter component. Each moving cutter component is composed of a blade and a corresponding connecting member; the blade comprises a plurality of saw tooth heads; the saw tooth heads are successively arranged and fixed on a moving slide strip. The two moving slide strips of the left and right moving cutter components are arranged correspond to each other in a plurality of blade clips and slidingly connected to the blade clips. The connecting members are connected to a driving mechanism. The blade clips are connected to a rack. The height of the cutting parts of the saw tooth heads is 1/2 to 1/3 the height of the cutting part of a main cutter of a reaping machine for rape.
