Internal migration urbanization and economic development

Problems posed by rapid population growth in developing countries are examined with emphasis on consequent rural-urban migration and the growth of unemployment in cities. The author describes models that have been developed by W. A. Lewis M. P. Todaro J. R. Harris and others. He concludes by discussing policy options available to deal with the resulting problems of unemployment. (ANNOTATION)
