Analysis of PbCrO4 and its metabolites in rats Wistar alveolar macrophages by resonance ionization mass spectrometry

1995
The laser desorption in resonance ionization mode coupled to mass spectrometry offer an high selective response. Thus we could follow on the living tissue slices the metabolization of lead chromate particles in rats (Wistar) Alveolar Macrophages. Studying the mechanism of clusters formation in resonance mode we showed that the hexavalent chromium underwent an degradation by the lysosomial enzymes and in consequence it is reduced to trivalent chromium.
