Flora y vegetación de Caletica, Rafael Freyre, Holguín

Caletica se localiza en el municipio Rafael Freyre proxima a los limites con el municipio Banes, provincia de Holguin. En noviembre del ano 2001 se realizo el estudio de la flora y la vegetacion de dicha area, aplicando metodos tradicionales de colecta y herborizacion. Se observaron cuatro tipos de formaciones vegetales naturales: bosque semideciduo, bosque siempreverde microfilo, complejo de vegetacion de costa arenosa y complejo de vegetacion de costa rocosa. Fueron identificadas un total de 218 especies de plantas, de las cuales 27 (12.4 %) son endemicas. Las mayores afinidades floristicas son con el Neotropico y dentro de este con Las Antillas. Dentro de los tipos biologicos predominan los micronanofanerofitos y los microfanerofitos. Sobresalen las hojas microfilas y las nanofilas. Por su utilidad se destacan las especies con valor medicinal. Palabras clave: Caletica, Holguin, flora, vegetacion. ABSTRACT Caletica is located in the municipality of Rafael Freyre near to the border with the municipality of Banes, province of Holguin. In november of 2001 the study of the flora and the vegetation of such area was carried out, applying traditional methods for gathering and herborization. Four different natural units of vegetation were observed: semideciduos forest, microfilous evergreen forest, complex of vegetation of sandy coast and complex of vegetation of rocky coast. A total of 218 species of plants were identified, 27 (12.4 %) of them are endemics to Cuba. The strongest floristic affinities are with the Neotropic and within it with The Antilles. Among the biologycal types outnumbered the micronanofanerophytes and the microfanerophytes. The microfilous and nanofilous leaves are the most common.
