In the initial loading of the RB~I~-IO00 reactor, the considerable reactivity margin is reduced by loading the channels only incompletely with fuel assemblies (FA), absorbers being inserted in the unfilled channels. The core then contains 234 additional absorbers (AA) and 44 unloaded channels containing water columns (WC).
