A study of the effect of degree of plastic deformation and heat treatment on the properties of forgings from steel 14Kh17N2

It is known that the operations with ingots, for example, hot forging reduction, affect the density of the metal, its contraction in subsequent heat treatment, and stability of mechanical properties in the ready part. However, experimental studies estimating the quality of metal depending on the forging reduction ratio are not exhaustive. The aim of the present work was to estimate the influence of forging reduction on the standard characteristics of mechanical properties of steel 14Kh17N2.
