Posto de turismo de Conímbriga

2005
This article is about an intervention in Conimbriga's Monographic Museum, meant to convert part of its premises into a tourist office. The new structure is situated next to the public access to the archaeological site and will concentrate the ticket and information offices. Neutral elements are meant to avoid any interference with the existing architectural language. Built of a metal structure, the tourist office has its outside brick walls coated with limestone while the roof has a self-supporting tile. On the inside one can see a marble floor, painted walls and ceiling, an information desk, a WC and a small storerooms. Three skylights ensure daylight indoors, and a marble shelf supports a number of computers used by visitors for online research.
