Acotaciones a un manuscrito inédito de M. P. Graells (1859) sobre medicina e historia natural de las víboras españolas

An unpublished manuscript dated 1859 and belonging to the Archive of the National Museum of Natural Sciences, CSIC is transcribed and commented. In this manuscript, Mariano de la Paz Graells completes a questionnaire promoted by the French Societe imperiale zoologique d’acclimatation concerning vipers in France. Responses include medical, ethnological and biological observations based on the author’s personal experience, which are commented and placed in the perspective of the current knowledge on these poisonous snakes.
