Assessment on effect of silicon carbide and copper reinforcement on AL7075 alloy

The work deals with design and fabrication of copper and SiC infused Aluminium composite. Industrial requirements such as improved hardness and tensile strength have led to development nominal cost composite with lower weight. Stir casting method is used for casting of composite with varying reinforcement levels. The tensile strength and hardness of the developed composite has improved for maximum level of reinforcement and SEM analysis proves uniform distribution of reinforcement elements over the composite. The hardness and tensile strength has improved by 47.37 % and 21.21 % respectively with reinforcement of copper and SiC particles to the Al 7075 alloy.
