Design of Flexible and Dual Wideband Antenna for Compact Wireless Devices.

2019
A dual wideband antenna based on triangular shaped radiator is proposed. The triangular shaped patch antenna with dual-slots is studied. The overall dimension of the antenna is $34\times 27\times 0.254$ mm3. The antenna is designed on flexible substrate for imparting its applications in flexible electronics. Here, two inverted U-shaped slots are incorporated into the design, one with triangular edges and another with rectangular edges. The U-shaped slots are employed to perturb the existing surface current path for dual frequency mode of operation. Also, the staircase shaped ground plane leads to the formation wideband frequency modes. The proposed antenna operates in two dual wideband band frequencies ranging from 1.64 to 2.60 GHz and 2.79 to 3.92GHz respectively. The operating frequencies can be independently controlled by varying the dimensions of the U-slots and also varying the ground plane size without affecting the wideband range. The proposed antenna has an impedance bandwidth of 45.28% and 33.68% respectively. The proposed antenna is able to cover 1.8GHz, 2.4GHz and 3.5GHz which is applicable for LTE, Bluetooth, WLAN and WiMAX applications.
