Potential for valve‐induced acoustic fatigue in piping systems

1975
In recent years, as sources of noise in piping systems have become more powerful, the potential for structural fatigue induced by intense acoustic fields in such systems has increased. This paper examines the potential for such a problem in those cases where the acoustic field is produced by the passage of a gas flow through a control valve.
