How much do socio-economic conditions influence people's schooling duration?

A wide sample of countries has been used to contrast the effective influence on the population's schooling duration of some variables usually considered in theoretical models. But we have also found that socio-economic conditions have a special influence because they reduce the chance that people have to access the educational system.
