A Solar Micro-Utility system for buildings

A unique synergy between cogeneration technology and solar energy conversion technology is presented as a new concept -- the Solar Micro-Utility. Solar energy provides both heat and electricity. When solar input is too low a small methanol-fueled engine provides the difference. Organic Rankine cycles are used with a 17% conversion of heat to electricity. Several projects are identified that pay out in under 3 years.
