Mathematical Description of Transient Processes in Converters and Voltage Stabilizers of Standalone Power-Supply Systems

2021
A mathematical description of transients in converters and voltage stabilizers of standalone power-supply systems under load switching and change in supply voltage is given. Uncontrolled and controlled rectifiers and voltage stabilizers are considered. The apparatus of the theory of linear functions is used; the rectifiers are identified on the basis of the oscillatory link. The techniques required for calculating the zero and average values of the transition function and its first derivative for an uncontrolled rectifier are presented. The formulas for determining the maximum voltage surge and the transient process time are given. A controlled rectifier is modeled taking into account the presence of a proportional regulator that enables a significant reduction in the static instability of the output voltage. A linear stabilizer is considered as a controlled unit described by a first-order differential equation. Formulas for the analysis of the dynamic modes of such devices are derived.
