Observer based fault diagnosis for induction motor with sensor faults and disturbances

2017
This paper studies an observer based fault diagnosis problem for the induction motor of CRH2 (China Railway High-Speed Train) traction system with stator current sensor faults and disturbances. Considering the nonlinear characteristics of the induction motor, a T-S fuzzy model is constructed to model the motor. To estimate the states and the sensor faults of the motor, simultaneously, the states of the T-S fuzzy model are augmented with sensor faults treated as new states. Based on the augmented system, a fault diagnosis observer is designed, in which the generated residual can achieve the robustness to disturbances and the sensitivity to faults. Two motor simulation cases valid the effectiveness of the proposed fault diagnosis method.
