Mao Dun's Significance in Present China

Mao Dun's novels reveal that capitalists are new representatives of productivity in China's modern society and Mao Dun is a writer of greatest productivity significance in China's modern literature history, which are not studied by the academia. The new productivity significance is the employment of western management and advanced productive tools to manage modern enterprises, finance, security and promote rapid capital increment. Historically, A Q belongs to the past, while Wu Sunfu belongs to the future. Of the modern writers, Mao is the only one who has distinct consciousness of enterprise and finance. It is the basic value of Mao's creation to praise industrial civilization and refute agricultural culture.
