URANIUM DIOXIDE-BASED NUCLEAR FUEL PELLET INCLUDING SiO2-CaO-Cr2O3 ADDITION AGENT

PURPOSE: A uranium dioxide-based nuclear fuel pellet including a SiO2-CaO-Cr2O3 addition agent is provided to enhance stability of nuclear fuel by increasing a creep rate of a nuclear fuel pellet. CONSTITUTION: A uranium dioxide-based nuclear fuel pellet including a SiO2-CaO-Cr2O3 addition agent is formed with addition agent powders of 0.1 to 2 weight percent and uranium dioxide-based powders to form a phase of a grain boundary. The addition agent powders are formed with SiO2 powders, CaO powder, and Cr2O3 powders. The SiO2 powders, CaO powder, and Cr2O3 powders are 35-55, 45-65, and 1-7, respectively when the total weight is 100. The uranium dioxide-based powders are formed by adding one or more powders of PuO2 powders, Gd2O3 powders, and ThO2 powders to the uranium dioxide powders.
