The visual tasks encountered in office work range from barely legible to highly legible materials. With technological advances in reproduction and writing implements, e.g., copiers, typewriters, pens and paper technology, the visual tasks prevalent in offices today are more legible than they were two or three decades ago. There are, however, no hard data quantifying the relative occurrence of tasks at various levels of difficulty.
