SEISMIC RISK ASSESSMENT FOR FUNCTIONAL REQUIREMENTS OF BUILDINGS-Outline of evaluation procedure and practical application for electric power supply buildings-

Recent earthquake damages show that damage of non-structural components, such as walls and ceilings, mechanical and electrical components, often cause malfunctions of functional requirements of buildings. Authors propose a practical seismic risk assessment for functional requirements of buildings using Fault Tree and Monte Carlo simulation, considering secondary damages and restoration scenarios. By using this risk assessment, priority of prior countermeasures can be evaluated.
