Crystallization of dextran and dextran triacetate

1975
Abstract It was shown that dextran produced by the strain SF-4 Leuconostoc Mesenteroides is a crystalline polymer with a glass transition temperature of 140° and flow temperature of 180° Treatment of dextran with water and formamide results in crystallization of the polysaccharide and reduces the temperature of crystallization. Dextran triacetate is a crystalline polymer. The point of transition of dextran triacetate with symmetrical tetrachloroethane promotes final crystallization of the polymer.
