Effect of Educational Intervention on Hand Hygiene for Nurses: An Observational Study

OBJECTIVE To investigate the effect of educational intervention on the knowledge and execution of hand hygiene for nurses.METHODS One hundred nurses were selected as subjects,who were trained with educational intervention.Status before and after intervention was investigated and evaluated.RESULTS Nurses improved significantly their knowledge and execution of hand hygiene after educational intervention.The rate of hand-washing was significantly increased from 35.78% to 66.02%(P0.01).CONCLUSIONS The compliance and quality of hand hygiene for nurses in clinical practice will be improved by behavior education of the knowledge and execution of hand hygiene and establishment of supervision management system,which will promote to control hospital infection.
