Behavioral medicine as a part of a comprehensive small animal medical program.

1991
The practice of behavioral medicine can become a part of virtually any veterinary practice. This practice includes assisting clients with pet selection, providing preventive behavioral services, diagnosing and treating behavioral disorders in pets, becoming involved with pet-facilitated therapy, and providing effective help to clients experiencing pet loss. The economics of this aspect of practice can be evaluated, like any other medical service, as a part-time endeavor, practice promotion, or even a hobby.
