Gear Faults Diagnosis Based on Hilbert-Huang Transform

A new method of fault diagnosis of gear wear based on Hilbert-Huang transform was presented.The principle of Hilbert-Huang transform was introduced.The Hilbert-Huang transform was applied to the faults diagnosis of gear wear.In order to identify the faults feature,marginal spectrum and energy spectrum analysis was made to gain the characteristic of fault signal of gear wear based on the selection of the intrinsic mode functions which stand for the gear wear faults.The experimental results show that the wearing faults of gear can be effectively diagnosed by the method.
