ESIS TC8 — Numerical Round Robin on Micro Mechanical Models: Results of Phase III for the Simulation of the Brittle to Ductile Transition Curve

2006
This paper presents the results of a round robin organized by CEA Saclay within the ESIS (European Structural Integrity Society), TC8 (Technical Committee no8) dedicated to the numerical analysis and the comparison with experimental data. The objective of this round robin (phase III) was to model the ductile to brittle transition curve of the 22NiMoCr37 German RPV (Reactor Pressure Vessel Steel) using elastoplastic damage models. The principle of the round robin is that initial sets of damage parameters are first imposed. Then, contributors are free to adjust and justify their parameters so that a good latch to experimental data may be obtained.
