Case report: Phrenic artery injury - A rare complication of percutaneous needle lung biopsy

1996
Abstract The phrenic artery is a small vessel that is not often visualized on CT and is at risk of injury during biopsy of low lung lesions. This may result in haemoperitoneum that will not be evident on post-biopsy chest X-rays. We present a patient with a bleeding tendency who had this unusual complication following a needle aspiration lung biopsy.
