Perceived parental acceptance-rejection and parental control among Korean adolescents

1985
ROHNER, RONALD P., and PETTENGILL, SANDRA A. Perceived Parental Acceptance-Rejection and Parental Control among Korean Adolescents. CHILD DEVELOPMENT, 1985, 56, 524-528. Korean youths' perceptions of parental control are correlated positively with perceived parental warmth and low neglect. These results contrast sharply with the findings of studies on North American youth. Cultural factors contributing to the distinctly different pattern of correlations among the Korean versus American studies are discussed.
