Synthesis and characterization of alkenyl substituted 2,2-bisferrocenylpropane and their homopolymers

6-isopropenyl bisferrocenylpropane,6-(α-benzenevinyl) bisferrocenylpropane and their corresponding homopolymers were obtained from ferrocene and acetone through a series of reactions.The compounds and homopolymers were characterized by elemental analyses,IR spectra and 1H NMR spectra.The thermal stabilities of the homopolymers were studied using DTA-TGA.The results showed that the thermal stabilities of the homopolymers containing ferrocenyl groups were obviously increased,the homopolymers maintained unchanged until approximately 300℃.In addition,the introduction of phenyl group improved the thermal stability of the polymer.
