The invention discloses an irrigation area canal system suitable for water culture of the Tibetan region. The system comprises a water source, a main canal, branch canals, and a drainage system of a field irrigation region, wherein the water source is communicated with the main canal and is arranged at a high place; the main canal is communicated with the drainage system via the branch canals; the irrigation area canal system also comprises wetland system; the wetland system is communicated with the main canal and the drainage system via the branch canals; closure gates are respectively arranged at the joint of the wetland system and each branch canal and the joint of the drainage system and each branch canal. The irrigation area canal system disclosed by the invention has the advantages of effectively increasing the utilization rate of water, increasing the irrigation area and realizing high yield and stable yield of agriculture. After irrigation return water is accumulated and stored by utilizing engineering measures, drainage systems which are mutually communicated in series are used for sending water to fields and lands, which is quite beneficial for dispersedly-flowing water lifting facilities and water lifting irrigation, so the water irrigation period is greatly shortened. After the irrigation return water is developed and utilized in the downstream of the irrigation area, water is saved for maximum proper irrigation of the upstream farmlands, so water contradiction of the upstream and downstream is mitigated.
