Observation of the charmed strange baryon decay /Xi//sub c//sup +/ /yields/ /Xi//sup /minus///pi//sup +//pi//sup +/

We have observed 2 charmed strange baryon decays /Xi//sub c//sup +/ /yields/ /Xi//sup /minus///pi//sup +//pi//sup +/, /Xi//sup /minus// /yields/ /Lambda//sup 0//pi//sup /minus//, /Lambda//sup 0/ /yields/ p/pi//sup /minus// (and charge conjugate) in the data collected in 1985 and 1986 by the NA32 experiment using charge-coupled devices for vertex reconstruction and a trigger on a pair of opposite charge kaons and/or (anti) protons. The still preliminary analysis gives for the /Xi//sub c//sup +/ mass a value around 2465 MeV. 5 refs., 3 figs.
