Analysis of Development Needs of Foster Parents Communication Media in Supporting Improvement of Academic Achievement of Students with Weak Socio-Economic Background

This development research aims to produce information system applications. The first year, the research focused on analyzing system requirements through field studies and literature studies. The aim of this research is; 1) describe the condition of students who need tuition assistance, 2) priority scale of students who are entitled to receive tuition assistance, 3) formulation of communication media between students and donors. This research belongs to the type of qualitative descriptive research. The subjects of this study were 51 students of Padang State University. Data obtained using questionnaires and qualitative analysis through stages; arrange, tabulate, analyze qualitative data and make interpretations of the results of the analysis then make conclusions. To determine the priority of beneficiaries for education costs, the Analytical Hierarchy Process method is used. The results showed that; 1) there are still many students who need tuition assistance, 2) there are 12 students who have top priority to get tuition assistance, 3) the need for a place of communication between students and donors.
