Intradiscal electrothermal therapy for the treatment of chronic discogenic low back pain

The treatment of chronic low back pain presents a formidable challenge to the spine specialist. There is a discogenic etiology of low back pain in a subgroup of these chronic patients. Nonoperative treatment of these patients, including interbody fusion techniques, has yielded mixed results. An alternative therapy to address this problem is desirable.
