Objectives: Music enjoyment is, nowadays, one of the difficulties felt by cochlear implant users. This work aims to investigate music listening habits and music enjoyment in cochlear implant adult users with post-lingual deafness and to analyze the importance of musicbased auditory training in the context of auditory rehabilitation after cochlear implantation. Materials and methods: The outcome measure used was the “Munich Music Questionnaire”. The participants were adult patients with severe to profound post-lingual sensorineural hearing loss, with a minimum of 6 months of cochlear implant use. Results: A decrease in music listening habits and music enjoyment is apparent, when compared to time before onset of deafness. Conclusion: A decrease in music listening habits after cochlear implantation is apparent. Music-based auditory training is considered to be important in the context of auditory rehabilitation after cochlear implantation.
