Monitoring adherence guidelines helps improving care for lung cancer patient.

e17595 Background: Adherence to clinical management guidelines has positive impact on cancer patient outcome. We describe the results of our evaluation of adherence to lung cancer guidelines at our institution, a tertiary medical care center at Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Methods: A guideline auditing tool was developed, the form included variables about confirming pathological diagnosis, molecular testing, staging, discussion at tumor board and treatment selection. The form was piloted and tested by two independent clinical research coordinators then completed for all patients with lung cancer seen in 2012. Findings of 2012 were shared and discussed with Thoracic Tumor Board members to encourage the team to improve their compliance and data were gathered for 2013. Results: 73 patients were included (49 for 2012 and 24 for 2013). Presentation of new cases at tumor board improved from 35% to 58%.
