PATH STUDY LAYS OUT STRATEGY TO BUILD THE CALIFORNIA ARCHITECTURE

This article presents a summary of the findings of a research project which looked at issues surrounding the deployment of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) projects in California, including the development of a state regional architecture. A review of the National ITS Architecture describes the framework used for coordinating projects across jurisdictions. Specific recommendations are given for standards, policy, and system management.
