Acceleration of thermal neutrons by isomeric nuclei (180Hfm)

Abstract Inelastic accelaration of neutrons by 180 Hf m has been observed. The experimental cross section for acceleration of thermal neutrons is σ in = 52 ± 13 b. The K-hindrance factor determining the long lifetime of the isomer is absent in this reaction.
