Fault Diagnosis for Stator Inter-turn Short Circuit Fault of Traction Motors under Closed-loop Structure

In this paper, the fault diagnosis problem is studied for the stator inter-turn short circuit fault in the traction motor of high-speed trains under closed-loop structure. Considering the robustness of the closed-loop system induces that the stator interturn short circuit fault could be covered, a new mathematic model of transfer function is established from the reference input to the output. Then a fault diagnosis scheme, which contains a residual for detecting faults and a multi-model matching algorithm for isolating faults, is proposed. Simulations verify the performance of the fault diagnosis scheme. Through the stability analysis, the fault detectability condition for the closed-loop traction motor system is driven, which is also illustrated by simulations.
