Optimizing a Gas Fractionation plant to save Energy and Expand Production Capacity

Through optimized simulation and analytic calculation to the gas fractionation equipment of the oil refinery of JCIC,the problems existing in the original production technology were found,and the best transform scheme was put forward to optimize the technology,expand production and save energy.This scheme was implemented successfully on the production plant.After transformation,the energy consumption descends from 2884 MJ/t to 2173.6 MJ/t,and production capacity increases from 120 000 tons per year to 150 000 tons.Newly increased benefit from saving energy and expanding production capacity is 24.320 million yuan per year.A sum of 5.8 million yuan was invested,and the investment recovery period was less than 3 months.The depropane tower and the self-developed high efficiency packing have many merits such as high production capacity,high separation efficiency,low pressure drop,high operation elasticity,low recycle ratio and low energy consumption.
