Heat Conduction in Structures Containing Defects and the Optimization of TNDT Procedures

2020
This chapter contains a detailed description of the mathematical methods used for solving TNDT problems. Practical two and three dimensional mathematical models are used to derive the basic mathematical relationships between the physical parameters of defects and the surface temperature. The optimization of pulsed and thermal wave TNDT procedures is discussed along with numerous examples of optimal detection parameters. Also, some advanced TNDT models that allow the analysis of subtle testing phenomena are considered.
