Use of emotional intelligence to promote innovation among employees in the work environment through qualitative and quantitative analysis

2021
Abstract Emotional intelligence, though providing favorable outcomes like better work success and improved human well-being, is unclear about its association towards innovation. While existing research on intelligence and innovation remains scant and ambiguous, it is not sufficient to understand the relationship between the two factors. This article aims to comprehend the impact of Emotional Intelligence on Innovation (EII), taking into account the function of mediators in employee resources, motivation, and the dedication of the employee to achieve success. In this work, qualitative analysis in terms of the meta-analysis of correlations was performed with the total sample dimension of 15,340 to determine the overall association between emotional intelligence and innovation. Also, quantitative analysis has been carried out considering the role of mediators on the influence of EII. Results revealed that the correlation between these two structures has been significant, statistically. The findings demonstrate a significant impact on creativity and other behavioral factors from emotional intelligence, and individual achievement tends to control most of these associations. This work is novel by analyzing the mediating effects of different factors on the relationship between emotional intelligence and creativity, as moderated by individual achievement.
