A manually operable device for controlling a motor vehicle arranged in an apparatus, comprising: an operating portion (21) to be operated by a user by hand; an actuator (39a, 39b) as a driving source for applying a force to the operating portion (21); a recognition section (41a, 41b) for detecting an operating position of the operating section (21); a memory element (15) for storing a force pattern showing a relationship between the actuation position of the operating section (21) and control data for driving the actuator (39a, 39b) and a relationship between the actuation position of the operating section (21) and an actuating signal for the output of the device for controlling the device arranged in the vehicle defined; a receiving element (16) for receiving the force pattern from an external device and for storing a force pattern in the memory element (15); a control element (17) for reading a force pattern that is stored in the memory element (15) for outputting the control data to the actuator (39a, 39b) force pattern and read out on the basis of the from the memory element (15) of the (from the recognition section 41a , 41b) detected operating position of the actuating portion (21) and for outputting the actuation signal to the device; and a transfer member (16) for transmitting the force pattern in the memory element (15) is stored, to the external device, ...
